Episode 14 Transcript
Ashley Jones and her husband Keith had no idea of the rollercoaster ride they were going to get on when they had their first child, Victoria.

Victoria, who is now a happy 22 month old, was born with a tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF) which is an abnormal connection (fistula) between the esophagus and the trachea, and suffered global and universal brain damage through the labour process.
Keith and Ashley were given very little information about what this would mean for Victoria, but at the same time they were expected to make impossible decisions about her future.

This episode looks at how they handled these hurdles and how being Victoria’s mother changed Ashley and how she sees the world.

I have those same 3am thoughts about feeling like I’l failed in not picking up that something was wrong sooner when I was in labor.
I hope Keith and Ashley have found Hope for HIE along the way. It’s a great group.
Thank you to Ashley for sharing Victoria’s story.
I’m sorry you have those thoughts, Gwen. Thanks for the recommendation for the group!
